Stan and Jews for Jesus have represented repeatedly that there was nothing to the criminal investigations of Stan Telchin. Both have represented that Stan's son-in-law went to the FBI and made a complaint. The representations made by Stan and Jews for Jesus are factually false, as shown in this email from Detective Bud Johnson of the Manatee County Sheriff's office. The Manatee County Sheriff's office concluded their investigation and in late July, 2001, passed the matter to the FBI due to "multi jurisdictional" issues. The FBI passed the matter to the IRS who would call Stan to an audit in late 2002 and shortly thereafter Stan Telchin Ministries was shut down. Please scroll below for additional information: |

Johnson Subject: Stan Telchin Investigation Transfer to FBI Monday, October 30, 2006 Mr. Chris Lee: I am unable at this time to access our records due to our records management system being down. I can confirm through this email, that Det. Walter Rozamus (deceased) opened the original case, turned it over to me when he left the Fraud Section, and I forwarded the case to the FBI in a meeting with Special Agent Dave Street in the Sarasota, Florida office. While I don't have access to the actual date, I do recall the meeting being sometime in 2002. I've had no further contact with the FBI regarding this matter since my meeting with SA Street. Our reason for turning this investigation over to the Federal authorities concerned what we felt was a lack of jurisdiction on our part due to the solicitation of funds from outside Manatee County and the use of the internet. I have no direct knowledge of any contact you may or may not have had with any other authorities regarding this matter.
